We are busy slowly replacing and replenishing the resources we have at nursery at the moment. One of the areas we are focusing on at present are our Home Corners.

We are pulling together lots of 'Real World' resources for the children to play with, from magazines, newspapers, takeaway menus, to woks, saucepans, chopping boards, old telephones and more.

We would like to ask if parents have any of the following lying around the house, as we would be more than happy to take the items off your hands! 

• cookery books that you don't use
• takeaway menus
• travel brochures
• home catalogues (e.g. IKEA catalogue, ASDA Living catalogue)
• pots and pans (woks, small frying pans etc.)
• wooden and metal spoons
• empty cardboard and plastic food containers e.g. butter containers, gravy granule containers, washing up liquid bottles (please make sure they are thoroughly cleaned out)
• home phones, mobile phones
• phone books
• dried leaves, twigs, large stones/cobbles from any weekend walks or holidays

We celebrated World Book Day at Nursery on 2nd March 2017. We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and children who took part and came in to Nursery dressed as one of their favourite book characters. 

We always love reading at The Old Railway House, but on World Book Day we had even more stories, which everyone loved! 

We have recently had a visit from Usborne Children's Books and we are hoping to do a sponsored read soon, called 'Ready, Steady, Listen', to raise money for lots more books we can read at Nursery. So watch this space!
