We would like to thank each and everyone who generously donated to this years Children in Need campaign. We are extremely pleased to announce that we raised a huge £181.76!!
When the Public donates a pound to BBC Children in Need, this is a pound that goes to help change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people. This includes the costs of ensuring grants are allocated to excellent projects in communities across the UK making a tangible difference to young lives; monitoring and evaluating the project to ensure the money is being used to maximum effect and ensuring that grant making is supported, processed and governed responsibly. Source: BBC Children In Need - What We Do One of our lovely cooks Sue will be retiring at the end of this month due to ill health, so we are looking for a new cook to start with us in January 2019.
We are sure you will join us in thanking Sue for cooking up yummy dinners for all our little ones during her time with us, and in wishing her a restful early retirement. If you would like to apply for the position, or know anyone that would be perfect for the role, please tell them to get in touch with us. You can find the job advert with further details here, you can contact us to apply here, or give Clare a call on 01922455755 to enquire. We are also looking for 'bank staff/occasional workers' to join the team. Have a look at the 'Jobs' section of our website for vacancies currently available :) On Sunday 11th November, we spent a lovely morning serving free hot drinks and treats to the local community who came down to Station Road to remember the soldiers who fought for our freedom. We served 120 hot drinks at least and got to speak to some lovely passers by. Thank you for everyone's donations to the poppy appeal, we raised an astonishing £168.15 of which we will be donating to The British Legion. Once again a huge thank you for all of your support.
Last Friday (2nd November 2018) we were visited by a World War One soldier who proudly showed our children what he would have wore during the war, we were also visited by World War One nurse and station master.
Just a reminder that we are going to be fundraising for Children in Need for the whole week, commencing Monday 12th November 2018.
We are going to be holding fun activities for all children, including: a ‘Bake Off’ cake sale, an all week pyjama party and t-shirt decorating! We will be asking parents for donations in return for cakes (and votes for cakes!), donations for their child to wear their PJ’s to nursery, and for parents to purchase their child’s creative t-shirt masterpiece from us. All proceeds will go to Children in Need. To donate direct to Children in Need, you can visit their campaign pages here. Thank you for your support! Just a reminder that we will be having a red day on Friday in tribute to Remembrance Day, if possible please dress your little ones in red to support this memorable weekend. We will be having lots of red themed activities with a red themed special menu too.
