We hope you all had lovely bank holiday weekends and we really hope that none of you were affected by the floods on Sunday evening. If you were affected, our thoughts go out to you for any losses you might have suffered. Nursery unfortunately didn't escape the flooding. Although it wasn't as bad as it could have been (we were less than a centimetre from the water going through the whole nursery!), we still suffered. The areas mainly affected were our car park, the small play room which forms part of Platform Room and our lovely garden, with it's outdoor classroom. We wanted to therefore thank parents for their patience and understanding while we get these areas back up and running! We hope to have your little ones enjoying our nursery to the fullest in the quickest of timescales. If any of you are interested in seeing some photos, here are a few I (Amy) took on Sunday evening, before we spend the bank holiday Monday cleaning and getting ready to re-open on Tuesday! Today (25th May 2018) marks the biggest change to UK data protection law since 1998.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an evolution of the current Data Protection Act (1998) and comes into effect today. Regulated by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the new law gives people more control about how their data is used, shared and stored and requires organisations to be more accountable and transparent about how they use it. You can read an article about it, and find out more about GDPR and how it affects you here [external link: ico.org.uk).
