We hope you all enjoyed pancake day yesterday! We certainly did at nursery! We tried some savoury ham and cheese pancakes, and then had a sweet round with strawberries, raisins, flavoured sauces and squirty cream! There were some firm favourites for toppings! We're already looking forward to next year!
Pancake Day is swiftly followed by Valentine's Day, so we thought we'd give you some ideas of how to enjoy the day all together with your little ones, whilst still getting some 'you' time with your nearest and dearest! 1. Film and sofa night Nice and simple - but worth it's weight in gold for family time together - and just as importantly, a chance for you parents to relax for an hour or so! Get the kiddies in their PJs and enjoy a night on the sofa with a movie and snacks! 2. Paper hearts and glitter Get the paper, glue and scissors out and have some fun making Valentine's cards and cutting out paper heart shapes - you can even string them together to make garlands for your living room. On some of the hearts, write down what you love about your little ones, and make sure you tell them :) if your little one is a talker, why not ask them what they love about you. Make sure you date it and keep it in a keep-sake box after Valentine's Day for future :) 3. Decorate some cakes/biscuits together Get the icing sugar out, throw some pink and red food colouring in it and add some glitter and some hearts - use a plain Rich Tea or Digestive biscuit if you haven't got time to make fairy cakes! Give it to your loved one as a Valentine's dinner dessert. 4. Simply say 'I love you' Valentine's Day can be seen as hugely commercial. Even if this is your thought towards it, use it as a day to make sure you say an extra 'I love you' to your little ones and your partner in crime looking after them! Being a parent is hard-work and a day like today is the ideal opportunity to remind yourself how amazing it is to have little ones in your lives :) Comments are closed.
